Daniel is in his mid-30s.
Daniel and his partner bought a home in a trendy part of Dallas and reached out to us for a full replacement of their siding.
Their main goal was to update the look of their new home, but they also had some animal damage, as well as general wear and tear caused by age and poor upkeep.
The Biggest Problems
The upstairs was cold in the winter and too hot in the summer.
Daniel and his partner purchased an older house and there was poor insulation upstairs.
This means that they were paying extra on heating and cooling costs, but they were never comfortable in their bedroom at night.
Their older home needed fresh look.
The homeowners wanted the overall look of their house to match with how new and trendy their neighborhood was.
What Did They Try Before They Called Us?
To try and fix the heating issues:
- Tried updating their windows
- Had fiberglass blown insulation added to the attic to increase insulation
While the new windows did help, the added insulation didn’t and just ended up costing them money.
By the time they gave us a call, they were researching other installation methods and products
How We Approached the Project
We love working with homeowners who are looking around, and asking detailed questions about their options.
Daniel clearly knew what type of siding he wanted but was confused by all the information he was getting from different types of installation methods.
So, we discussed all the different options: various products, installation methods, pricing, and what would get them into a beautiful (and warm) house at night.
We made sure to go over why a proper installation was critical with James Hardie products—an improper installation can void your warranty and leave the homeowners paying out-of-pocket if any repairs are needed
Their Ideal Solution
A full replacement and installation of James Hardie fiber cement siding with a more efficient spray foam product in the walls.
This solution ended up costing them less than another company's less efficient method.
What they ended up with
A beautifully updated home, that will withstand our harsh Texas weather for years to come.
We also were able to provide them with a heat efficient home that will keep them comfy and save them money on heating and air conditioning costs.
